It has about 900 residents and it is located on the south side of the island, 27km away from the city.

It is one of the biggest Masticochoria (mastic villages) in the island, immediately impressing visitors with the eminent quadrangular houses, the cobbled streets and the medieval atmosphere. You can still see parts of an ancient wall, locally known as Pelasgic.
