An ideal holiday destination for those seeking something extra special for this year’s summer vacations. The islands of the East Aegean are famous for their traditional lifestyle, their rich cultural life and intense spirituality, their idiosyncratic architectural style and the hospitality of the locals, always willing to welcome visitors into their homes.
Chios, Lesvos, Samos, Lemnos and Ikaria are the most densely populated islands of the East Aegean Sea, receiving thousands of tourists every year. Miraculously enough, they don’t seem to have lost an inch of their traditional character! They have a very well organized tourist infrastructure coupled with beautiful and clean long beaches, which makes them the best possible choice for a family vacation.
The rest of the islands, namely Ai Stratis, Inusses, Fourni and Psara, attract fewer tourists, but that doesn’t mean that they lack natural beauty. These islands are not as developed touristically and are usually frequented by Greek holiday makers, who seem to favor them for their serene ambience and the beauty of the untainted nature.
