There are around 250 museums in the country (folklore & history museums, art galleries), where visitors can admire the evolution of greek culture since the very beginning, 3000 years ago.

Opening Hours
On Mondays and holidays museums are closed unless it’s a special occasion.

New Year’s Day - January the 1st, Epiphany - January the 6th, Shrove Monday  - 41 days before Easter, National Independence Day - March the 25th, Friday and Saturday of the Holy week, Easter, Easter Monday, May Day - May the 1st, August the 15th, October the 28th, Christmas - December the 25th & the 26th

Taking Pictures
You are allowed to take pictures as long as you don’t use a flashlight, but sometimes you need to ask for permission first.
